If you plan on visiting Alabama Beaches this summer you may be in for a huge suprise when it comes to getting here quicker and avoiding the traffic. The Alabama Department of Transportation is still on target with the completion of the Intracoastal Waterway Bridge. ALDOT has released to the press that the completion could be ready by Summer 2026. The new bridge and the existing Foley Beach Express Bridge will provide two lanes of traffic. This will double the capacity for travelers that decide to use the Beach Express - more capacity and less delay. When complete there will be two-lane bridge for southbound traffic and a two-lane bridge for northbound traffic which is the existing Foley Beach Express Bridge. This is a huge milestone for the area which will reduce congestion and improve safety for travelers and residents alike to the Baldwin County area and Alabama Gulf Coast.
