Description

Ocean House #1906 is a west corner gulf-front 3 bedroom 3 bath condominium located on the 9th floor in building I overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. The unit is approximately 1300 sq ft with views of the gulf from the living room and gulf-side master bedroom. The condo has a fully equipped kitchen with a washer and dryer. There are 3 full baths with either a tub/shower combo or a stand-alone shower. The gulf-side master bathroom is accessed via the bedroom and hallway. The street-side master has an en suite bathroom and the middle bedroom has an attached bathroom with a stand-up shower.

Ocean House I and II are 9-story buildings with 6 units per floor located 1 mile West of Highway 59 in Gulf Shores. Ocean House has a large seasonal zero-entry outdoor pool and a small kiddie pool. The property also has a grilling area that services both buildings I and II.

Minimum age required: 23 | King, King, 2 Fulls, No Sofa Sleeper. Sleeps 8.

Parking passes are purchased on-site at Ocean House at the guard house or office located in building I - CASH ONLY. There is a maximum of 2 parking passes per unit and the cost is set by the association and is subject to change at any time without notice.

Location excellent, gulf view excellent, condo very roomy. Will definitely stay here again. Wished the weather was better, but March is hit and miss. The TV in the 2nd bedroom did not work, but we didn't come to watch tv, and some of the electrical outlets were loose.

The location was great, we woke up to the waves every morning with coffee on the balcony! We were close to food and fun! The unit was cleaned up, but was not in good shape. Tiles broken, you could see under the cabinets in kitchen, mold around the showers, outlets unable to be used on one wall due to faulty connection, doors being painted during our stay. It could definitely use some maintenance when no one is staying in the unit. Although most of these things weren't a dealbreaker for us, they may be for someone else so wanted the voice them. We did enjoy the beach gear in the balcony closet, it really helped us out from having to go purchase our own! All in all, it was a good place to lay our heads after fun times at the beach. We would stay here again after a little maintenance. If you're planning to spend a lot of time in the unit and needing functionality, I would choose differently. If you're looking for a homey vibe and a place to sleep only, this would be an ok choice.

We’ve stayed in this unit 3 or 4 times now over the last couple of years. It is not perfect but it is clean and cozy. The location is fantastic and Gulf Shores Rentals is super responsive via text or phone. We had a small maintenance issue with a bathtub but it was remedied within a couple hours of being reported. The only real complaint we have is that the satellite remote control was missing so we had to watch football in the bedrooms. A minor inconvenience though. We will definitely be back to Gulf Shores and will most likely stay in this unit that suits our family of 6 well.

Great view from the balcony, wonderful location, plenty of space, overall a delight. But the condo was a little tired looking and could use a little attention to detail. Only 2 garbage bags for a 3 bedroom condo housing 5 adults, 1 blow dryer, 1 roll of paper towels and no coffee filters. Kitchen pots and pans were sparse. Carpet in bedrooms was stiff and worn. Though we loved being there and are grateful for the space, if we choose this same condo next year, we would plan to bring more of the basics we would have expected to be there. also some of the kitchen utensils needed to be washed before using them.

This needs a 100% remodel. There is mold, broken cabinets, the stove is not against the wall, there’s no tile underneath the dishwasher, there’s a lot of rust on the deck and every time you cook the fire alarm goes off. It should be listed for 250 a night not 500 (with taxes and fees). I loved the view from the deck but that’s about it. It was very disappointing.

We have stayed in this unit several times over the last few years and are booked to stay again in the future. We absolutely love the location. The condo is not huge so the beach is not crowded and neither is the pool. We had a bit of a bout with weather on this particular trip but it wasn’t bad. Had a double reds a few days but we enjoyed the beach, pool and other activities in the area.
If I were forced to make a complaint, it would be that the oven had a burning smell when we used it. Otherwise, perfect. Will definitely stay again!

The condo was spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. The outdoor pool was heated and I loved the built in seating in the deep end. Short walk to the beach and the view was amazing. The beds were a little firm for my taste but not uncomfortable and the Jacuzzi tub was a pain to fill because only the shower head would run water but keep the curtain closed and the mess wasnt to bad. Overall the unit was comfortable and my family really enjoyed ourselves would absolutely book again!

This place needs an overhaul....flooring, woodwork, paint, furniture. It felt dirty! The only good thing going for it was the view. Property management was attentive when needed but they should have disclosed that parking is $30 per car. The pictures on the listing don’t show the poor condition that the condo is in which is why I think it is important to write this review.

This condo unit was slightly below average. A few complaints. First, this condo requires you to buy a $30 parking pass to park your car after you have already spent the money to stay. I find this egregious. Now, onto the actual unit itself. As far as space and rooms I was happy with the size of the unit. However, there were numerous places that needed to be addressed. There were many places that needed painted and touched up. Several blinds were in need of being replaced. The unit had several places that looked like an amateur handyman had tried to repair issues. Very shabby. Another complaint, the unit is opened by a physical key that if you lose there is a $50 replacement cost. Seems like a money grab. What not just update the lock to a keypad like 90% of the units there.

Now to the positives. The condo location was convenient. They offered ice onsite for $4 a bag. The pool was nice for kids as it was zero entry on two sides.

Overall, the condo was acceptable just don’t have high expectations on the aesthetics of the unit. Of all the units I have been in, this one needed the most work visually I have been in. However, it served a purpose adequately.

We love the west corner location, and the top floor. Sunset and sunrise views are so beautiful! Response from Gulf Shores rentals was excellent! Even on weekends. Quality of work was excellent too! Made our stay worry free! We highly recommend Gulf Shores Rentals.

Super easy to rent through. Great location and view. Not on a busy street. Loved how close we were to the beach. We are thinking about booking again for the spring! My only negative comment is the blinds in one of the bedrooms, a few were missing causing the room to get very bright as soon as daylight hits. My son would wake up super early.

We could not use canopies in front of Ocan House this year. That was very inconvenient and forced us to rent chairs. Condo was great as usual

Due to beach erosion, the use of canopies and tents had to be prohibited this year to allow everyone space to enjoy the beach. We are sorry that was an inconvenience. If someone wishes to not rent chairs, they are free to bring their own chairs. There is a beach restoration project set to begin in November of 2022.

We were told by maintenance that we should just use the other showers that we had when the one in main bath didn't work, so we didn't even try to have them fix the other issues of doors that didn't work well and leaked air badly etc

We prefer low rise condos so this looked like a nice place to stay. 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. Nice size condo. But... desperately needs updating and painting. Needs new mattresses, horribly uncomfortable beds with old mattresses. Blinds missing in the bedrooms that make for a very bright wake up too early on vacation. I called the rental agency before our arrival to see if the blinds had been replaced since I read on a previous guest review that the blinds were missing. She assured me this was taken care of...nope! The condo wasn’t adequately cleaned prior to our arrival; food crumbs were on the floor from the previous guest. Carpet in bedrooms needs cleaning or replacing. Paint chipped on multiple walls.
It is a shame this condo is not in a better condition because it could be very nice. I would NOT recommend this condo. Way too pricey for the quality!!!

The location is amazing as it has been for the last 6 years we have stayed at Oceanhouse in Gulf Shores. The view from the 9th floor was beautiful. The condo this time was a little less than amazing but okay. The first morning there we discovered the fridge wasn't cooling our groceries much at all. I sent a note and a repair guy came that same day. He said the fridge was done and they would be putting in a new one. When we came back to the room later there was two coolers each with one bag of ice for us to put our groceries in until the new fridge was installed. I assumed the new one would be installed the next day well was I wrong. I had to send another note and then it was put in. The guy asked when we were leaving we said Friday he said I will be back then to finish putting on the handles etc. We went three days without a working fridge this is not acceptable. I will say I appreciate the new fridge for the one day we got to enjoy it.

As you probably know, replacing a major appliance takes time to coordinate the order, schedule the delivery, etc. We are sorry it had to happen during your stay. There is never a good time for a major appliance to go out.

The condo was probably the shortest walk to beach we’ve ever had-loved it. Just a few drawbacks though. One bedroom was not furnished as noted on website. The queen bedroom actually had two double beds & trundle, which worked for us, but may not for someone. Condo needs some TLC. Furnishings were nice enough. Baths & kitchen needs some updating. Blinds in master, facing the ocean, were missing half the slats-may as well not been there. Shower in master, facing the street, had a shower added to a garden tub. It was like standing under a regular faucet. The condo needed a good scrubbing. None of these things kept us from having a good vacation. It wouldn’t take much time or money to correct these things to make this condo great. PS Not a potholder in the kitchen.

The condo was overpriced. It was very outdated and needs a lot of things fixed. The doors were missing locks, floors were filthy, blinds missing 50% of slates, dryer was terrible, bed sheets had grease stain. The decor might be the original from 1996. Parking at the condo was $30 per vehicle and unless you we in for the night by 9 p.m. there was nowhere to park. But the location and pool were great.
