The Southern Grind Coffee House is Jim McPhillip’s vision turned into reality. Jim always wanted to have his own cafe, and with the need for a coffee house in Orange Beach, The Southern Grind was born. Jim’s wife Jaime, using her Interior Design talents created an atmosphere that is warm and inviting, where you can enjoy your favorite coffee while shopping for that unique gift, specialty coffee and tea items, along with Jaime’s original artwork. Coming from a small town, Jim and Jaime wanted to create a place where families can come play cards or dominoes, celebrate a birthday, or just hang out. Featuring free WiFi, they encourage college students and the local business community to meet here. They even created an outside porch where you can sit and relax, that is dog friendly. The Southern Grind features wonderfully prepared coffee by a professional barista, fresh-baked goods, salads, paninis, and gelato.
